What qualifications or experience do your trainers have?
I am the sole trainer and founder of Whitaker Training. I have a degree in Psychology from the University of Reading and hold the Level 3 Award in Education and Training. As a Nuco instructor, I am fully certified to teach a wide range of Ofqual-regulated courses, including:
First Aid for Mental Health
Safeguarding
Health and Safety
Fire Safety
Food Safety
Beyond formal corporate trainer qualifications, my experience includes extensive world travel, which has given me a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and human resilience. I also spent time volunteering with the Samaritans, which provided invaluable experience in listening and empathetic communication. I use my experiences and learnings in all of my training.

What is your training methodology, and how is it different from others?
My training methodology is based on two key principles: engagement and lasting application. While many courses are passive, my approach is active and dynamic. I use a variety of interactive techniques, including live discussions, Q&As, scenarios and hands-on activities, to ensure participants are always involved. My courses are designed to not only teach information but also to equip employees with practical skills they can use immediately.
What areas do you specialise in?
I specialise in two key areas:
Mandatory Compliance Training: As a Nuco instructor, I deliver essential Ofqual-regulated compliance courses such as First Aid for Mental Health, Safeguarding, and Health and Safety. This ensures your organisation meets all regulatory requirements while providing your team with vital, life-saving skills.
Psychology and Wellbeing Training: Drawing on my degree in Psychology and my unique background, I have developed bespoke courses focused on mental resilience, stress management, time management, and team building. My goal is to help your team not just survive but thrive. Some of my most popular courses in this area include the following:
Mindfulness & Wellbeing 6-Week Course
Managing Stress & Anxiety
Mental Resilience

As always, custom training can also be created specific to your organisational needs.
What is the typical feedback you receive from participants after a session?
The most common feedback I receive from participants is that the training was engaging, relevant, and a great use of their time. Participants often comment on how they enjoyed learning more about the Psychological aspects of the training (for example, on reducing burnout or managing stress and anxiety). They leave the training with skills they can apply immediately in their professional and personal lives.
How do you help employees with mental resilience and stress management?
My training on mental resilience and stress management goes beyond standard techniques. It's rooted in a deep understanding of psychology and the way the mind works. I don't just give a list of tips. Instead, I teach evidence-based techniques to help employees understand how their minds work, identify sources of stress, and develop healthy coping mechanisms. The goal is to not only manage stress but to proactively build a strong, resilient mindset that can handle life’s challenges.
Within my CPD training Hub, I also provide a monthly Wellbeing Group, which is solely focused on helping employees to reduce their stress and anxiety, whilst looking to the month ahead.
The Wellbeing Group is a 1-hour check-in to refocus, refresh and recharge. Contents will vary, but will include:
1. Solution-focused questions
2. Mindfulness
3. Breathing & coping exercises
4. Group Discussion

How do you ensure the training is relevant to our specific industry?
Relevance is one of my top priorities when creating custom training. While the core skills I teach are universal, the examples, case studies, and scenarios are always tailored to your specific industry. Before a session, I conduct research on your industry's latest trends and common challenges. I also work with you to understand your specific business context. This ensures that the training feels immediately applicable to your employees' day-to-day work, making it more impactful and memorable.
What Corporate trainer qualifications or experience do you have that makes your training unique?
My unique training approach comes from my background. My degree in Psychology gives me a deep understanding of human behaviour, allowing me to teach in a way that truly connects with people. My experience volunteering with the Samaritans has sharpened my empathy and communication skills, which are crucial for creating a safe and engaging learning environment. Additionally, I use powerful behavioural and cognitive techniques to help participants address the root causes of issues like a lack of confidence or imposter syndrome. This combination of formal education, lived experience, and skills is what makes my training truly unique.
